John Mayer and his world-class band played to a packed Riverbend Music Center on July 27th

Riverbend Music Center, a short jaunt East of downtown Cincinnati, was host to John Mayer on Tuesday July 27th.  The 2003 Grammy Award winner played a blazing set to a loud crowd.  John was so enthused with the energy the crowd delivered, he played 10 minutes past the 11:00 Riverbend curfew.  The crowd could tell that John was impressed with the turnout from the very beginning of the concert.  Giving props to the fans in the lawn on numerous occasions.  Unfortunately for the band, their Hershey Penn show prior to the Cincinnati stop had to be canceled due to bad weather.  In the process, the band’s stage video screen was damaged beyond repair.  Since it was apparent that the Cincinnati stage setup was missing the video screen, John jokingly mentioned “There are no more video screens……Lady Gaga has them all”.  John went on to play an incredible set of music to a loud and enthusiastic crowd.  For the encore, John went out into the pavilion crowd to a stage set up halfway back on the left side of the house.  He ended the evening with solo acoustic versions of Your Body is a Wonderland > Neon and Edge of Desire.  Train opened up the evening with a mix of their radio friendly hits.
