John Butler Trio on 6/11/10 in Chicago at the Riviera

Eclectic Australian roots rock band, John Butler Trio visited the windy city on Friday June 11, 2010 as part of his highly anticipated U.S. tour.  Touring in support of their newest offering, April Uprising, John Butler Trio came to Chicago and delivered a show that will be talked about for years to come.  Chicago, always a favorite city to play for the band, was alive with energy as the Blackhawks had just won Stanley’s Cup.  As the crowd entered the venue, this energy was taken from the streets and packed into a sold out Riviera Theater in the old theater district of Chicago.  The crowd of 2700+ mingled and grabbed beverages while the opening act State Radio from Boston warmed up the room.  Once State Radio finished and the crew changed over the  stage for John Butler Trio, The Riviera was set for what would end up being a truly memorable night of new and classic John Butler Trio.  The band consisting of John Butler, Nicky Bomba, and Byron Luiters, took the stage around 9pm and played for a solid three hours delivering the sweaty rowdy crowd a setlist to remember.  We offer a full photographic recap of the evening.  The Noble Visions would like to thank, John Butler Trio, ATO Records, and Red Light Management for their support and to their dedication to the pursuit of quality music, live and recorded.  For more information about the John Butler Trio, please visit our previous article about JBT here:  The John Buter Trio, The Noble Visions, ATO Records and AliveOne present the official April Uprising listening party.
