Charles "Wigg" Walker & The Dynamites played Southgate House friday night

Nashville’s own, and Mid-Point Music Festival favorites, The Dynamites with Charles “Wigg” Walker, brought their legendary funky soul grooves to the ballroom at The Southgate House this past Friday night.  A house of about 200 people were witness to one of the country’s best funk soul revue bands.  The Dynamites hail from Nashville Tn, and have been performing together since early 2005.  However Charles “Wigg” Walker is not new to the soul funk R&B scene.  A famous recording artist in the 60’s & 70’s, Charles had taken a break from performing until the early 2000’s, when in 2005 he was introduced and made front man of The Dynamites.  The eight piece groove machine took the stage around 10:30pm. The Dynamites took the stage and performed a n intro song, and then Charles Wigg” Walker made his way to the stage. From that point on the night was full of electric funk grooves and soulful lyrics.  Many originals as well as a many covers were played throughout the night.  Charles Walker and The Dynamites came to town Friday night and delivered an evening of funky soul grooves that kept the room dancing into the early morning.  As many of our readers know, the lighting at the Southgate House is less than to be desired.  With that being known, we present a few images that captured the evening.
